RESOLUTION NO. (XX)
AUHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS AND PURCHASE OF
NETWORK SWITCHES AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR THE CITY’S
ADMINISTRATIVE NETWORK.
WHEREAS, the City has various network switches to control computer data traffic, including switches at the Police facility; and
WHEREAS, one of the network switches that was scheduled for replacement in FY 24- 25 has begun to experience occasional issues that can unpredictably affect police operations; and WHEREAS, the estimated replacement cost for the switch and other related equipment is not to exceed 28,911.58; and
WHEREAS, because this work was not scheduled until next fiscal year, it was not budgeted in the current fiscal year (FY 23-24) and would require an appropriation by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, due to the unpredictable nature of the issues and the potential for disruption of police operations, it is recommended that the work be advanced to the current fiscal year (FY 23-24).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cotati that:
1. The appropriation of $28,911.58 is hereby authorized from General Fund to the Police Department to be applied with the year-end budget adjustment; and
2. The City Manager is authorized to execute the necessary work orders to effectuate the work, not to exceed the authorized amount.
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cotati held on May 14, 2024, by the following vote, to wit:
