Vision
This farm belongs to the people of
Cotati and our goal is to facilitate
their participation, and foster a
sense of community and shared
ownership.
“Your” Farm
Strategy
Hands-on Activities
The farm will produce food and distribute it to the
community directly via u-picks and plant sale/donation
as part of other existing events such as Fall Fest. We
will provide support for Sandy Loam’s events and
initiate additional educational activities within those events.
Each community member will want to
participate in their own way, so we plan to
offer a variety of different ways to engage.
We’ll track KPIs like attendee numbers and
social media engagement to continue honing
our sense of what the community wants to
see.

Managed grazing will immediately begin to
improve the soil and vegetation quality in the
pasture. To increase engagement, we’ll install a
mobile feed wagon in areas where the public
can feed hay and learn about the project.
Support planned on-farm events and initiate
additional activities and engagement
opportunities within these events.
Establish and maintain social media accounts to
create community engagement and feedback
opportunities.
