RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COTATI TO
AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER A CONTRACT WITH CHAVAN &
ASSOCIATES, LLP TO PERFORM PROFESSIONAL AUDITING SERVICES FOR
THE CITY OF COTATI
WHEREAS, on May 31, 2024 the City issued request for proposals from qualified firms of certified public accountants for a three (3) year contract to prepare and audit its financial statements including evaluation of Revenues and Expenditures of Measure S sales tax receipts, and complete a Single Audit Report if required, for the fiscal years ending June 30, 2025, 2026 and 2027, and
WHEREAS, audits are to be performed in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards, the standards set forth for financial and compliance audits in the U.S. General Accounting Office’s (GAO) Standards for Audit of Governmental Organizations, Programs, Activities, and Functions, the provisions of the Single Audit Act of 1984, as amended in 1996, U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-133, Audits of State and Local Governments and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Pronouncements, and WHEREAS, the all-inclusive maximum price for the services are not to exceed $31,500, $32,500 and $33,500 for the fiscal years 2024/25, 2025/26 and 2026/27 consecutively, and WHEREAS, the action of selecting a financial auditing firm does not constitute a project as defined by California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines Section 15378; therefore, no further environmental review is required.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that by the Council of the City of Cotati that the City Manager is authorized to enter a Contract with Chavan & Assocaites, LLP to perform annual audits of the City’s financial statements as proposed and attached herein.
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cotati held on September 10, 2024, by the following vote, to wit:
