I love the Sonoma County libraries and froquently use the ones in Rohinert Park and Petaluma. They are the best public Ibraries Ive ever knoum, and fa like to contribute. Reason for seeking appointment:
I love the Sonoma County libraries and frequently use the ones in Rohnert Park and Petaluma. I write a regular book-review columns for PERCEPTIVE TRAVEL, which requires me to read a great number of travel books as soon as they come out - the RP and Petaluma librarians have been so helpful to me; I'm very impressed with the collections and the excellent support services for readers and library users like me.
The Sonoma County and Lake County libraries are the best public libraries I've ever known, and I'd like to contribute my time and energy to them if i can be helpful. I have some experience in library work (cataloging) and a lot of experience in teaching literacy/ESL/writing. For three years | ran a writing lab at Birmingham-Southern College, and I have some understanding of how library-based literacy programs work.
Basically, I love the libraries and have time and energy to offer; I'd like to support them as they continue to do well.
