Good Morning City Manager O'Bid and Mayor Sparks,
I am reaching out to follow up on an application to the Library Commission submitted by Malia Anderson.
As indicated in her application, Malia is not only deeply invested in libraries, she is deeply connected to the community and ensures that both are connected.
As an active member and leader within our branch, Malia is constantly designing and envisioning ways to connect business leaders and her clients to the resources available through our library system. It is this connection that allowed for us to work with the Library foundation and have Ms. Thaibult and Mr. Holley speak at our last membership meeting.
We are also keenly aware that there is a lack of diversity and representation on the Library Commission and we hope you will see her as an asset to model Cotati's commitment to engaging voices who are not often heard from or engaged and as a strong representative of your city's needs and desires.
We hope the City of Cotati will join the Sonoma County Library system in taking the steps towards ensuring all members of our county-community are connected, reflected, and engaged in programs and services. Especially those who know and love libraries in the way Malia does.
Please let me know if you'd like to discuss further, but I feel strongly about her dedication to community service and know her love for libraries makes her a strong representative of your community.
best,
Kirstyne
