Hello everyone,
It has come to my attention that the Laguna trail renovation between E. Cotati and Gravenstien way is scheduled for approval in the upcoming Consent Calendar to become an asphalt path.
While we all recognize that the existing path needs renovation, I respectfully ask you to remove this asphalt approval from the consent calendar and consider a more environmental option of decomposed granite or another alternative. Not only is this much nicer but more importantly, it is COOLER.
I don't know if any of you walk this trail during the summer, but it's really HOT....already with the existing cover which is much lighter than asphalt. Making this asphalt will make it even HOTTER. It's a terrible choice for this trail. It also brings down the natural aspect of this wonderful trail that Cotati is very lucky to have for our community.
Please, please do reconsider this!
