Summarize your reasons for interest in the appointment.
Serving the past 3 years on the Cotati Planning Commission has been a great experience. Due to elections and a couple of resignations I was asked to step in as Chairman after the first year. I enjoyed working and collaborating with the 4 new Commissioners and appreciated the support of Noah and his Team.
I believe I have demonstrated the qualities that are the most important:
keeping an open mind, listening, asking questions and coming prepared.
While the commitment to the City Council and the various appointments/assignments is greater, I have a strong desire and the time to bring the same qualities to this position.
Two items I especially enjoyed learning about and being part of were the Active Transportation Plan and the Housing element. I would like to see how I can help bring these plans to fruition as a member of the City Council.
The livability of our environment is one of the 4 Qualities of Life. So many things touch on this, the safety & cleanliness of Cotati, the quality of our parks & streets, consistency of key services, recreational programs and more.
Continuing to support and improve the livability of Cotati I know is a huge focus for all of us. This is all based on a sound financial plan. I understand we are fortunate to be in a healthy place financially. Being part of the upcoming budget sessions would be a great way to learn more about the process, our revenues streams, expenses, long-term planning, etc. During my career I worked on many hotels operating & capital budgets, scenario planning and revenue generation.
