Re: Request for Amendment #1 for Construction Management and Inspection Services for Sidewalk Gap Closure Project (Project)
Dear Craig:
Per our previous correspondence please find enclosed a request for amendment #1 to our original CM and Inspection services contract for the referenced Project. This amendment will allow us to complete the project through final construction and close out the paperwork needed.
There are several items which have necessitated the need for an amendment that are summarized below and in the attached notes prepared by Rick Seanor and Matt Messenger on the first week of January. Currently, we are approximately $9,500 over budget and it is estimated that there is approximately 3 to 4 weeks of work still remaining to be done by the Contractor. The original number of working days were expended the week of January 6.
Briefly summarized below are key items associated with this amendment:
• Rick S. was required to educate the Contractor on proper submittal of RFl's, change order requests, extra work reports, certified payroll, time and material invoicing, progress payments, etc. This was done to facilitate the work needed to complete the contract. • There was additional change order work needed due to the preparation of plans that required additional working days.
• Change order work for Olaf Street (construction still to be completed) • There is significant punch list work to be completed as well as the potential for a winter suspension to allow for warmer temperatures to cure the decomposed granite pathway and installation of the TESCO panel (anticipated to be delivered in April).
• Upon completion of the Contractor's work, there will need to be time for final paperwork (progress payment, final payment, transfer project files, etc.)
The weekly progress reports and daily inspection reports, submitted weekly, have a more in-depth explanation of the work performed for reference, if needed. We hope that you have continued confidence in our firm and staff!
