It is recommended that the City Council adopt the fiscal year 2025/26 salary schedule, as updated per the current City labor agreements.
Background
On June 10, 2025, staff presented to council the fiscal year 2025/26 salary schedule for adoption.
Subsequent to adoption it was noted that the salary schedule attached was for fiscal year 2026/27 and not the schedule for 2025/26. As such staff are bringing back to council the corrected fiscal year schedule for approval.
Analysis/Discussion
The City of Cotati has three separate bargaining units; the CEA, the Cotati Police Officers Association (CPOA), and the Cotati Police Management Association (CPMA), as well as the Non-Represented group and a single employment agreement with the City Manager. The salary schedule implements the existing approved memorandum of understanding with each group or contract.
Financial Considerations
There is no additional fiscal impact associated with the approval and publishing of the salary schedule as the changes have already been authorized by MOU and included within the adopted budget.
Environmental Issues
This action is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) because it is not a project which has a potential for resulting in either a direct physical change in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment, pursuant to CEQA Guideline section 15378.
