You all down at city hall sure have been busy bees this past month. Now, without any public input or even discussion of the council, city staff has changed the decades promised intersection at West Cotati Avenue and 116 to a roundabout with this agenda item.
The audacity of City staff to think that they can do this without any input shows how out of control and desperate city staff are to cover years of mismanagement. City leaders campaigned last year that there were no roundabouts planned anytime soon to get the roundabout ban repealed.... with only one sign and no money, the opposition received 1499 votes to keep the roundabout ban.
Despite all your efforts to make it physically about roundabouts, almost 1,500 citizens believed the other version...that this was about safe and sane traffic planning, not about physical roundabouts. Now your city staff has shown to these 1500 people that their vote or voices don't matter. Have you all told the new housing developers about this change? For years you have been selling this lighted intersection. A roundabout will work traffic wise, but what about children crossing 116 to go to Thomas Page School?
