Dear Mayor Ford and Councilmembers,
I am reaching out on behalf of Girasol Collective to request fee waivers in support of our upcoming Día de los Muertos community celebration.

Although we are not a nonprofit, Girasol Collective operates with the same mission-driven spirit by supporting small businesses, assisting new entrepreneurs, and collaborating with local nonprofits. Together, we are organizing a cultural event that will bring our community together to honor this important tradition.

The event will feature a community altar, mini altars for small businesses and organizations, food and art vendors, children's activities, classic cars, a DJ, and live music.

This celebration will highlight the beauty, history, and meaning of Día de los Muertos while providing opportunities for cultural connection and local business support.

Due to limited funding, we are unable to cover all planned expenses, so we are respectfully asking for assistance through fee waivers. Your support will help make this event possible for the entire community.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards,
Rocio Alvarez
Founder, Girasol Collective
