Subject: Streetlight Restoration Specialists Performance To Whom It May Concern:
In 2022, the City implemented Phase 1 of a Citywide traffic signal pole/equipment painting project.
The contract was awarded to the low bidder, but a field test demonstrated that the contractor was unable to comply with the project requirements. A subsequent bid solicitation resulted in a contract being awarded to a different contractor as low bidder. This contractor also struggled with the field test, but was allowed to proceed with the work. Unfortunately, there were continual problems as the work progressed, including quality problems, safety problems, and compliance problems. Extra inspection was required, at significant additional cost to the City, and the finished quality was poor. This background is provided to illustrate the contrast with the experience we had with Streetlight Restoration Specialists (SRS).
In 2023, the City implemented Phase 2 of the signal painting project. The contract was awarded to SRS and it is difficult to describe just how different the experience was. At every stage of the process, from submitting complete bid documents to final inspection, their performance was of the highest professional standard. They were organized, well-equipped, capable, responsive, and pleasant and friendly to work with. Furthermore, their finished quality standards were even higher than those of the inspector, which enabled the City to provide minimal inspection.
As a result of this experience, I cannot recommend Streetlight Restoration Specialists strongly enough. They are truly specialists and experts in this type of work and conduct themselves in an ethical and professional manner that is rarely seen today.
