The following estimate has been prepared, and includes all labor, tools, equipment and materials necessary to repair and restore the intersection poles as outlined in the scope of work below, at two (2) locations in Cotati City. Anything not specifically included in the scope of work below is excluded. For revisions or items you would like revised, added or removed, please notify Brian Moran at [email protected]. All work is being quoted to be performed at night between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. All work is quoted at prevailing wage. No daytime work is included in our prices and/or scope of work. Bonds are not included in our prices but can be provided upon request, normally at an additional cost of approximately 2.5% to 3% of the contract price.

SCOPE OF WORK: The work outlined here in this description shall be performed to the Intersection poles at Old Redwood Highway & Valparaiso/Myrtle (Intersection 1) as well as E. Cotati Ave & W. Sierra Avenue (Intersection 2). The items included in being repainted are Type 1A poles, vertical poles with luminaire arms and mast arms, traffic signal heads, visors (outside of visors only), pedestrian heads, push button housings and luminaires, push button poles and decorative bases. Our prices include traffic control.

Included in our scope of work is surface preparation to be accomplished by one or more of the following methods: hand sanding, hand scraping, grinders, power tools, surface preparation tools, needle guns and laser paint removal. Our crew will remove loose and flaky paint (up to 20% of the total surface areas to be repainted). Full coating removal is NOT included in our scope of work or price. After surfaces are properly prepared, we will clean all surfaces receiving new coatings as necessary with a solvent and/or other cleaner to remove dust, dirt, oil, grease and/or other surface contaminants and to further maximize proper inter-coat adhesion. Signs (but not straps) on the vertical portion of the poles, and/or signs which can be easily removed will be taken down and temporarily stored on site while we work on the poles and will be re-installed before we leave the corner. Other signs and appurtenances which cannot be easily removed (such as those on the horizontal mast arm), cameras, pre-emptive systems, etc. shall be masked off and/or protected as necessary to prevent overspray or contamination from during the course of our work. The majority, or all, of the masking, plastic, paper, etc. will remain up and installed from the time we begin work until we finish. Safety related signs shall remain visible, either by utilizing transparent plastic during the course of our work, or by our crew removing the masking after each shift. Other than safety related signs/cameras/etc. masking shall remain. Should the city require us to remove masking/protective coverings and re-install each shift, additional charges shall apply based upon the amount of time and materials it requires to reinstall. This includes charges for additional traffic control required during the reinstallation. Also included in our price are aesthetic repairs to the broken decorative bases found at the intersection of E. Cotati/W. Sierra. Repairs will be completed in such a way that upon completion, the decorative bases in their normal functioning position will not appear to have been repaired. After surface preparation and cleaning have been completed, and after repairs to the base(s) have been completed, we will mask as necessary the yellow retroreflective tape located on the fronts of the signal backplates. The front of the signal head back plates and outside of the visors shall be coated with one (1) coat of PPG’s Speedhide Flat black (or equivalent), after which time the masking tape protecting the yellow portions shall be removed. We will apply one (1) coat of High-Performance High Solids Two Component Epoxy Primer (SW MacroPoxy646) to the vertical poles, horizontal arms and mounting hardware. After primer has adequately dried, we will apply one (1) coat of High-Performance High Solids Engineered Polysiloxane Marine coatings (SW Sherloxane800) in a solid color to be chosen and approved by the city prior to mobilization. All coatings shall be applied by way of our customized HVLP spray system whenever we deem it to be feasible, which in this case, appears to be the case. In some cases, coatings may need to be applied by brush or roller, or a combination of brush, roller and spray, and we will determine that based upon field conditions when we arrive to perform the work.

LUMP SUM PRICE - $41,040.00
This estimate was prepared by Brian Moran on June 23, 2025 and is valid until August 31, 2025. Please contact Brian via email at [email protected] for any questions, clarifications or modifications needed.
