Dear Mayor Ford, Vice Mayor Lemus and City Council,
It has come to my attention that there is a plan to repave a trail in Delano park with asphalt.
This trail is definitely in need of repair but in my walks through that area, I think it would be hugely improved by replacing the asphalt with a more natural material. We had this discussion recently about the north portion of the Laguna trail (where I walk daily) and the council agreed ultimately that a more natural material would be best. This type of material is much cooler, better for the environment and holds up better over time. I have seen no significant wear on the Laguna trail despite parts of it being flooded every year. Please consider a similar treatment in Delano park. It is worth a little more in cost for the many benefits that come from it.
Please pull item 6A from the agenda on Oct 28th so there is time to explore this.
Thanks for your attention to this matter. I greatly appreciate it! Marla Charbonneau
