Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt a motion to cancel the regular City Council meeting on November 25, 2025.
Background
The City Council generally meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. This year, the first regular City Council meeting fell on November 11 (Veteran’s Day) which is a City Hall holiday.
Therefore, the City Council rescheduled this meeting for November 18, 2025 as a Special Meeting.
Analysis/Discussion
The next regularly scheduled City Council meeting is on November 25, 2025. Given the proximity of the November 18 and November 25 meetings, the lack of any urgent matters and the Thanksgiving holiday week, it is recommended that the City Council cancel the regular meeting on November 25, 2025. The next regular City Council meeting will be on December 9, 2025.
Although not required by state open meeting laws, in accordance City Council Rules of Conduct, section I.A.3, “Any meeting of the Council may be canceled in advance by a majority vote of the Council.” This is intended to provide advanced notice for the public when there is a changed or canceled meeting date.
Financial Considerations
There will be no direct financial impact from canceling a City Council meeting.

The action of cancelling City Council meeting dates does not constitute a project as defined by California Environmental Quality Act.
