RE: Charles Street Sewer Repair
Piazza Construction proposes to excavate and replace approximately 12 linear feet of 6-inch sewer pipe. The broken section of pipe will be located, and removal will extend to the nearest upstream and downstream joints to ensure proper replacement. A new section of pipe will be installed, connecting to the existing system at the exposed joints.
The trench will be bedded with ¾-inch drain rock up to the spring line of the pipe. Backfill will consist of Controlled Density Fill (CDF). Upon completion of the pipe installation, the pavement will be restored using a T-cut patch in accordance with City of Cotati standards.
Working hours are scheduled from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The project is expected to take approximately 3 business days to complete, with a start date of October 20, 2025. The work will be billed on a time and materials basis, not to exceed the maximum cost outlined below.
Total Cost Not to Exceed $33,200
Exclusions: Bonds, engineering, permits, traffic control, and unmarked utilities. Proposals are valid for 30 Days.

General Conditions:
1. All delays caused to Piazza Construction through no fault of their own or to removal of any obstruction will be extra work.
2. Extra Work will only be performed with fully executed and approved change order acknowledging description of work, pricing, and terms of payment.
3. This proposal is based on a standard 8-hour work day - Monday through Friday, between 7 am and 5 pm.
Should working hours be required other than those described, applicable overtime rates may be applicable.
4. Owner/Contractor is to notify Piazza Construction in advance of any known or suspected underground conditions or hazards which may affect the project.
5. Extra Work and items of work specifically excluded but performed by Piazza Construction or delays resulting from interference or non-performance of others shall be invoiced at extra work rates or will be negotiated and included in monthly progress estates and reimbursed to our terms of payment.
6. Piazza Construction standard insurance coverage is $5,000,000.00 primary. Any coverage beyond this will be provided at our invoice plus 10% if available.
7. No liquidated damages will be assessed to Piazza Construction.
8. It is understood that Piazza Construction, will NOT be required to furnish performance or payment bonds for the work.
9. The work shall be performed in accordance with a schedule. This shall be mutually agreed to between the parties, prior to start of work.
10. Piazza Construction is to be reimbursed in full for the repair or replacement of any portion of it work, which may be damaged by others or by act of god, during or after its installation.
11. Payment is to be made to Piazza Construction within 30 days of date of invoice. 1.5% will be added for late payments. All claims for asserted discrepancies must be made in writing within 5 days of invoice date. Attorney’s fees will be added if necessary for collection.
12. In the event of that caving soil, sub-surface water, hard rock conditions prohibit work from being performed in a normal manner and using standard excavation and shoring equipment and shoring, the work will be halted and the client will be immediately notified. This will be considered change of conditions and any additional work will be paid as extra work.
