RESOLUTION NO. (XX)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COTATI AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2025/26 OPERATING BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cotati adopted the Fiscal Year 2025/26 Operating Budget; and
WHEREAS, the City Financial Reporting and Budgeting Policies limit the approval of adjustments to the annual budget to the City Council where there is an increase in expenditures appropriations for a single fund (cost center), and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Mid-Year Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2025/26 for the period ending December 31, 2025; and WHEREAS, updated revenue forecasts, realized revenues, and operational needs require certain budget adjustments to ensure the budget remains accurate and fiscally prudent; and WHEREAS, the proposed budget amendments reflect conservative revenue estimates and provide necessary appropriations for unanticipated but essential expenditures while maintaining overall fiscal stability;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that
1) The Fiscal Year 2025/26 Operating Budget is hereby amended to incorporate the revenue and expenditure adjustments identified in the Mid-Year Financial Report, including but not limited to:
a) Adjustments to General Fund sales tax revenues based on updated forecasts; b) Increased appropriations for General Fund legal services related to Code Enforcement;
c) Adjustments to Community Development charges for services; and d) Recognition of increased investment earnings in the Water and Wastewater Funds.
2) The Administrative Services Department is authorized and directed to make all necessary accounting entries and administrative changes to implement this resolution. 3) This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cotati held on February 10, 2026, by the following vote, to wit:
