Regarding: 1st Annual Cotati Cinco de Mayo Festival
Dear Dedicated Cotati Representatives:

Rotary Club of Rancho Cotati is establishing the First Annual Cotati Cinco de Mayo Festival. As a major sponsor, the City of Cotati will be recognized on event banners, future posters and digital marketing including our website and social media, as well as verbal recognition at the event. Also there is the opportunity to have a City booth at the event and inclusion and press releases and media coverage. Thank you for your ongoing support.

The Festival, from 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday May 5, 2026, will be a vibrant community celebration, featuring live music, food, entertainment, family activities and a car show at La Plaza Park. This event will bring together hundreds of local residents and visitors for a day of culture, connection, and fun. This is all in support of meaningful causes.

We are a local non-profit with the long history of collaboration with the city of Cotati on local projects. All proceeds from the festival will go directly towards community programs as well as international humanitarian efforts.

Rotary promotes world peace and understanding through local and global service projects. On a global level our Rancho Cotati Rotary Club is helping a women's and children's shelter near Guadalajara, Mexico and providing books and computers for learning to schools in Kenya.

On a local level, a few of the resent projects our Rotary Club has helped sponsor include: Simple Gesture Food Drive for our local food pantry NOAH; Annual Cotati/Rohnert Park Christmas Toy collection, wrapping and delivery; Annual Mother's Day Free Luncheon for Seniors; Annual Cotati/Rohnert Park Free Thanksgiving Dinner; Rotary Peace Garden at Burton Center; High School Scholarships and a Exchange Student, and 80 'WHY' books for Thomas Page 3rd and 4th grade students to gave their own book to inspire learning inquiry.

Our club is asking for a waiver of all permit fees related to this event since it is a non- profit, first time, free event to enhance the Cotati community. We are requesting road closures from 2pm to 9pm at La Plaza & Old Redwood Hwy, La Plaza & W. Cotati Ave., La Plaza & W.

Sierra Ave, and W. Sierra Ave & Old Redwood Hwy. A Map is attached.

We are in the process of contacting and involving all of the downtown Cotati businesses.

So far Spanky's and Redwood Café are on board and planning their own music for the Tuesday event. Slow Co. Pizza, who would be most effected, is supportive and is actually closed on Tuesdays. The businesses in the La Plaza shopping center will have access from W. Cotati Ave.

Thank you again for your consideration and support.
