RESOLUTION NO. (XX)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COTATI
APPROVING THE 2026 COTATI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MUSIC FESTIVAL IN LA PLAZA PARK.
WHEREAS, The Cotati Chamber of Commerce submitted an application to the City for the Cotati Music Festival on February 2, 2026; and
WHEREAS, it will be necessary to conform to certain conditions as described in “Exhibit A,” attached hereto, to facilitate these events; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that these events are part of a comprehensive economic development strategy by the Chamber of Commerce in that they increase visitation to the City, promote the Cotati community and result in increased sales tax revenues; and WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the City of Cotati will not be jeopardized by the approval of these events; and WHEREAS, the application for these events is attached as Exhibit B; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the adopted License Agreement between the City of Cotati and the Cotati Chamber of Commerce, the City grants the Cotati Chamber use of La Plaza Park two (2) times per year for free public events that promote economic development of Cotati and shall waive the rental cost for these facilities up to the number of times specified for each, on mutually agreeable dates; and
WHEREAS, because the City is a partner in this event, it is recommended that the City fund the staff time to facilitate these events (estimated at $1,146); and WHEREAS, the action of approving a Music Festival event does not constitute a project as defined by California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines Section 15378; therefore, no further environmental review is required.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cotati as follows:
