RESOLUTION NO. (XX)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COTATI
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEMS
WHEREAS, the City relies upon critical information technology infrastructure to support municipal operations, financial management, utility billing, communications, records management, public safety operations and other essential public services; and WHEREAS, the City's existing server and data storage infrastructure has exceeded its recommended useful life by more than four years and is increasingly subject to hardware failures, maintenance challenges, and security limitations; and WHEREAS, staff has evaluated replacement alternatives and determined that replacement of the existing infrastructure is necessary to maintain reliable operations and improve cybersecurity protections; and
WHEREAS, the proposed replacement solution includes redundant systems that will maintain synchronized backups of each other, thereby improving system resiliency, disaster recovery capabilities, and business continuity; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of the replacement infrastructure, including equipment, software, implementation, and related services, is included within the City’s Fiscal Year 2026/27 budget and is estimated at an amount not to exceed One Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($180,000).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cotati as follows:
1. The City Council authorizes the purchase and implementation of replacement information technology infrastructure systems and related services in an amount not to exceed $180,000.
2. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to execute all agreements, purchase orders, and related documents necessary to implement the project and carry out the intent of this Resolution.
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cotati held on June 23, 2026, by the following vote, to wit:
