RESOLUTION NO. (XX)
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COTATI APPROVING THE FISCAL YEAR 2026/27 SALARY SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cotati is committed to transparency regarding employee compensation and benefits; and
WHEREAS, salary schedules are maintained and published in accordance with applicable state laws and the City's adopted labor agreements and employment contracts; and WHEREAS, the City of Cotati has recognized employee organizations represented by the Cotati Employees Association (CEA), the Cotati Police Officers Association (CPOA), and the Cotati Police Management Association (CPMA), as well as Non-Represented employees and an employment agreement with the City Manager; and
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2026/27 Salary Schedule has been prepared to implement compensation levels established through existing labor agreements, employment agreements, and Council-approved compensation actions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is concurrently considering approval of a successor Memorandum of Understanding with the CEA at its June 23, 2026, meeting; and WHEREAS, Exhibit A reflects the Fiscal Year 2026/27 Salary Schedule incorporating the compensation adjustments contained in the proposed CEA Memorandum of Understanding; and
WHEREAS, Exhibit B reflects the Fiscal Year 2026/27 Salary Schedule in the event the proposed CEA Memorandum of Understanding is not approved.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cotati as follows:
1. The City Council hereby adopts the Fiscal Year 2026/27 Salary Schedule as follows:
a) If the City Council approves the CEA Memorandum of Understanding considered at the June 23, 2026, City Council meeting, the Salary Schedule attached hereto as Exhibit A shall become effective the first full pay period in July 2026. b) If the City Council does not approve the CEA Memorandum of Understanding considered at the June 23, 2026, City Council meeting, the Salary Schedule attached hereto as Exhibit B shall become effective the first full pay period in July 2026.
2. The City Manager, Administrative Services Director, and their designees are authorized and directed to implement the applicable salary schedule updates consistent with the City Council's action regarding the CEA Memorandum of Understanding.
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cotati held on June 23, 2026, by the following vote, to wit:
