RESOLUTION NO. (XX)
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COTATI APPROVING A FIVE-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH AXON ENTERPRISE, INC. FOR PUBLIC
SAFETY EQUIPMENT, SOFTWARE, AND RELATED SERVICES FOR THE
COTATI POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Cotati Police Department currently utilizes Axon Enterprise, Inc.'s integrated public safety technology platform, including TASER devices, body-worn cameras, incar cameras, the Axon Evidence digital evidence management system, and related support and maintenance services; and
WHEREAS, the Department's current agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. expires on July 31, 2026, and continued access to these systems is necessary to support evidence management, officer safety, investigations, and daily police operations; and WHEREAS, Axon's integrated technology platform is fully compatible with the Department's existing equipment, software, workflows, and training, and transitioning to another vendor would result in significant operational disruption, additional costs, and reduced efficiency; and
WHEREAS, the proposed five-year agreement, commencing August 1, 2026, provides updated equipment, software, maintenance, and support services at an estimated total cost of $279,821.80, and provides substantial cost savings compared to annual contracting; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that approval of the agreement is in the best interest of the City and is necessary to ensure the continued delivery of reliable and effective public safety services.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cotati as follows:
1. Approval of the proposed five-year agreement with Axon Enterprise, Inc. for public safety equipment, software, and related services in an amount not to exceed $279,821.80, substantially in the form presented to the City Council.
2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the agreement and any nonsubstantive documents necessary to implement the agreement.
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cotati held on July 28, 2026, by the following vote, to wit:
