In a tenant-based program: a contract is created for that unit; when they move, a new contract is created. A strategy is how to bring more affordable housing here; and how project-based vouchers will help make that happen. Director Miller explained the project-based voucher program. This particular proposal is a good direction for us to do to get more affordable housing into our community. Mr.

Rice stated that they have recently acquired Valhalla Pacific Townhomes and they will get up to 25 project-based vouchers for Valhalla. Council Member Inscore asked when they acquired the property; Mr. Rice stated they acquired in December 2021; Council Member Inscore stated that since this is a high visibility project, it will be good for the community to see the progress in updating the units. Mr. Rice stated a lot of work is being done on the property to include ADA adjustments. City Manager Wier stated that Mr. Rice has been great to work with especially in the area of obtaining tax credits.
