Please consider two items that should enhance our city. One: The old clinic is razed and the land is in the process of being sold. Of course the owner wants the highest price and these days a very high price might be feasible. It is, however, an incredible piece of land and it would be lovely if it could be available to all citizens. A native plant garden with benches, paths, and informative signs would be peace, restful, educational, and welcoming to all citizens and visitors…. bird watchers, butterfly devotees, ocean lovers. Classes could come. Tribal historical information could be included. Local plant affictionados would support it. It would be financed by the City and perhaps a non profit. Beachfront funding might include such a beach-front piece of land. If presented correctly, supporters and viewers would come. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all ti enjoy the ocean more. Please consider this. Two: I realize you all are in the throes of dealing with regulation of short term rentals. Hopefully you will come to some standards that reflect the huge need of long term rentals of our citizens. Short term brings money to the owners and, if they pay, TOT money to the City. It does not enhance our city. With seven short term rentals within view of my front door, I am really tired of calling the police for fireworks, late night parties, illegal parking, etc… If you continue on this non-regulated basis, you must must must provide more police patrols. And they must enforce parking codes. Thanks for reading - may these two points be considered. Susan Roberts 323 Wendell
