CUDAHY CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING and
CITY OF CUDAHY AS SUCCESSOR AGENCY and
HOUSING SUCCESSOR AGENCY TO THE CUDAHY
DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION JOINT MEETING
October 29, 2024, 6:30 P.M.
1. CALL TO ORDER
Vice Mayor / Vice Chair Alcantar called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m.

4. BUSINESS SESSION
A. Budget Education Workshop
Presented by the Finance Director
Recommendation: The City Council is requested to receive a budget presentation by the City’s financial advisor, NHA Advisors, and provide any feedback, discussion and/or direction regarding current budget practices.

B. Capital Improvement Program Workshop
Presented by the Interim Public Works Director and Interim Senior Engineer City Council/Successor Agency Minutes of 10/29/2024 Page 2 of 2 Recommendation: The City Council is requested to Review and receive the proposed 2025-29 CIP’s; Give input on the proposed project worksheets; Direct Staff to conduct a Town Hall Meeting at Bedwell Hall on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 6:30 PM, soliciting residents’ input on the Capital Improvement Program; and Direct Staff to return to City Council by January 21, 2025, to approve the proposed Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Years 2025-29.
Motion: Vice Mayor Alcantar motioned to receive the proposed 2025-29 CIP’s, gave input on the proposed project worksheets, directed Staff to conduct a Town Hall Meeting at Bedwell Hall on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 6:30 PM, and directed Staff to return to City Council by January 21, 2025, to approve the proposed Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Years 2025-29, seconded by Council Member Fuentes. Motion passed 4-0-1 by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Fuentes, C. Gonzalez, Lomelí, and Alcantar
NOES: None
ABSENT: J. Gonzalez
ABSTAIN: None
At 8:33 p.m., City Attorney, Stephanie Arechiga recessed to closed session.
5. CLOSED SESSION
A. Conference with Legal Counsel Existing Litigation-Pursuant to Government Code § 54956.9(d)(1) – Cudahy Cecilia LLC et al. v City of Cudahy et al. Case No. 24STCV26709
At 7:50 p.m., Vice Mayor Alcantar, reconvened to open session.
6. CLOSED SESSION ANNOUNCEMENT
City Attorney Stephanie Arechiga announced all four council members were present with the Mayor being absent, direction was given and no further reportable action.
7. ADJOURNMENT
The City Council / Agency meeting adjourned at 8:51 p.m.
