PUBLIC COMMENTS RECEIVED VIA EMAIL
Natasha Dominguez I am urging the council to declare a state of emergency and protect our community, especially those that are renters. The constant onslaught of ICE raids in our city has made it impossible for families to work, significantly impacting people's livelihoods and their ability to make ends meet. Declaring a state of emergency would acknowledge the severity of this crisis and provide Cudahy with the necessary tools and resources to protect our most vulnerable residents. We must act proactively to prevent further devastation. I urge Cudahy Council to declare a state of emergency and vote on a 60 Day Emergency Moratorium for Evictions.
Tiff Sanchez I am submitting a comment to urge the council members to declare a state of emergency and protect our community, such as renters, business owners, and the community at large. These raids are not just a matter of immigration enforcement; they are a direct attack on the stability and well-being of our entire city. Families are living in constant fear. Declaring a state of emergency would acknowledge the severity of this crisis and provide Cudahy with the necessary tools and resources to protect our most vulnerable residents. We still don’t know the cumulative harm that the trump administrations attacks has on our communities but we know for certain it has affected the way people have been able to support themselves financially. The best thing w e can do at the moment is give our community housing stability and relief that is dignified.
We must act proactively to prevent further devastation. Please stand with your constituents and take this vital step to safeguard our community
