PUBLIC COMMENTS VIA EMAIL
Paloma Hernandez My name is Paloma Hernandez and I am a proud resident of Southeast Los Angeles. In the face of ongoing attack on our community by immigration agents, bounty hunters, and imposters, I submit this public comment to urge you to declare a state of emergency and protect our community, including renters, small business owners, street vendors, and day laborers. These raids are a direct attack on the stability and well-being of our entire city. Families are living in constant fear. Declaring a state of emergency would acknowledge the severity of this crisis and provide Cudahy with the necessary tools and resources to protect our most vulnerable residents.
Please act now to prevent further devastation.
Emmanuel Carrera Ruedas I urge the council consider passing a state of emergency for the city and a 60-day eviction moratorium given the ongoing threats to our most vulnerable populations in our communities due to ICE raids, With the adoption of the proclamation for National Preparedness Month, I hope that the city takes its own steps to reinforce the commitment to preparedness by taking action by expanding protections for residents before a deeper emergency occurs.

We must act proactively to prevent further devastation. Please stand with your constituents and take this vital step to safeguard our community. As a resident of SELA, I am witnessing the fear, anxiety, and uncertainty in my community every day.
