Re: Contract Renewal – Newport Beach Contract and Piggyback Dear Sirs,
Turbo Data Systems, Inc. would be happy to extend the same pricing and terms for all applicable services to the City of Culver City, as in the recently Bid City of Newport Beach Contract for Parking Citation Processing . The Newport Beach contract start date is April 1, 2022 for a term of five (5) years.
The Newport Beach pricing is significantly lower than what Culver City is currently paying , and the cost reduction from this piggyback will greatly benefit Culver City.
There will be a change in the Credit Card processing fees, which are not specifically outlined in the Newport Beach contract due to their unique merchant services requirements. In Culver City, and the vast majority of our customers, these fees are not paid by the city but are paid by each person choosing to pay their citations online or by phone. The current fee of $3 has not changed for many years. Due to increased merchant fees, PCI and Cyber security compliance and maintenance, all new contracts have a fee of $3.95 for credit card payments. We have held the lower rate for Culver City for a long time, but we now must move to the market rate. This is typical if not lower than rates charged by other government agencies for this service. Again, this is not paid by the city but by each person choosing to make a payment by credit card.
