A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO APPROVE SETTLEMENTS FOR WORKERS
COMPENSATION CLAIMS AND SETTING A LIMIT THEREON,
AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION
NO CS-7846
WHEREAS the City is self-insured for itsworkers' compensation liability, and WHEREAS Resolution No CS-7846 adopted in 1979 conferred authority for settlement of workers' compensation claims on the Chief Administrative Officer or his/her designee and
WHEREAS, since 1979 it has been the custom and practice that workers' compensation claims settlement has been delegated to the City Attorney in consultationwith the Risk Manager, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determinedthat the City Attorney should be authorized to approve settlementsfor workers' compensation claims up to$100 000 in consultationwith the Risk Manager with cases over that amount being referred to the City Council for review and approval
NOW THEREFORE the City Council of the City of Culver City California DOES HEREBY RESOLVE as follows
SECTION 1 The City Attorney is hereby authorized to settle workers compensation claims up to $100,000 with cases over that amount being referred to the City Council for further review and approval 2001-RO01
