On January 25, 2023, the Landlord Tenant Mediation Board (LTMB) at it regular quarterly meeting approved the transmittal of the following information to the City Council
2022 List of Accomplishments:
• Development of Decision Tree on when to seek mediation services verses Rent Control.
• Brainstorming of additional ways to expand the roles for the LTMB to help the City.
• 1 Successful Mediation in Culver City and 1 Mediation forwarded to Los Angeles County due to conflict of interest
Scheduled 2023 Activities Plan:
• Expanding the mediation role to other landlord/tenant issues aside from disputes over rent increases.
• Finalize the Decision Tree on when to seek mediation services verses Rent Control.
• Working with City Staff regarding outreach efforts to tenants, property owners and management companies regarding language on rental agreements.
