A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE
ASSESSMENT ENGINEER’S REPORT, DECLARING ITS
INTENTION TO LEVY AND COLLECT THE SEWER USER’S
SERVICE CHAR GES AND SETTING A TIME AND PLACE
FOR A PUBLIC HEARING THEREON.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Culver City Municipal Code (“CCMC”) §5.02.035.A, t he City Council previously established a system of sewer user's service charges provid ing that each parcel of property shall pay its proporti onate share of the costs for operation, maintenance, repair and improvements of the City sewerage system (the “Sewer User’s Service Charges”); and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to declare its intention to pro vide for the levy and collection of Sewer User’s Service Charges for Fiscal Year 2024-2025, to provide for the costs and expenses necessary for the operation, maintenance, repair and improvements of the City sewerage system; and
WHEREAS, the Engineer’s Report has b een prepared and filed with t he City Clerk and submitted to the City Council in accordance with CCMC §5.02.035.B; and WHEREAS, the City Council has carefully examined and reviewed the Engineer’s Report as presented and i s preliminary satisfied with the p roposed report, each and all of the budget items and documents as set forth therein and is satisfied that the levy amounts, on a preliminary basis, have been allocated so that each parcel of property shall pay its proporti onate share of the costs for opera tion, maintenance, repair and improvements of the City sewerage system as set forth in the Engineer’s Report.

32 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Culver City, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE as follows:
1. The Engineer’ s Report as presented, consisting of the following: a description of the operation, maintenance, repair and improvements of the City sewerage system, the estimated costs of operation, maintenance, repair and improvements, and the formulas used to determine the sewer user service charges fo r the parcels , is hereby approved on a preliminary basis and is on file in the Office of the City Clerk open for public inspection.
2. It is the intention of the City Council to levy and collect assessments for the Sewer User’s Service Charges to pay the annual costs and expenses f or the costs for operation, maintenance, repair and improvements of the City sewerage system for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 20 24 and ending June 30, 20 25. The operation, maintenance, repair and improvements are general ly described as: 90 miles of sewer pipelines, seven sewer pump station s, and sewage transmission and treatment costs payable to the City of Los Angeles per the executed Amalgamated Agreement with City of Los Angeles . Costs include all necessary service, operations, administration an d maintenance required to keep the City’s sewerage system in a healthy, vigorous and satisfactory condition.
3. The Engineer’s Report, as preliminar ily approved by the City Council, is o n file with the City Clerk and open fo r public inspection. Referen ce is made to the Engineer’s Report for a full detailed description of the operation, maintenance, repair and improvements to be maintained, and the proposed assessments upon assessable lot s and parcels of land within the City.

32 4. The Sewer User’s Service Charges are proposed to be increased by three and four-tenths percent (3.4%).
5. Notice is hereby given that a public hearing is scheduled to be held at the Mike Balkman Council Chambers, 9770 Culver Boulevard, Culver City, California, on June 10, 2024 at 7:00pm or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard. All interested persons, prior to the conclusion of the hearing, shall be afforded the opportunity to hear and be heard. The City Council shall consider all oral statements or written commun ication made or filed by any interested person.
6. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of the public hearing by publishing no tice of the public heari ng in compliance with CCMC 5.02.040 and m ailing notice of this hearing in compliance with Proposition 218.
