RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CULVER CITY EXPRESSING CULVER CITY’S DEDICATION
TO PEACE AND DIPLOMACY IN TIMES OF
INTERNATIONAL CONFLICT AND THE WISE USE OF CITY
FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that challenging times may demand difficult decisions, and wants to ensure that our time, resources, and energy are utilized in the most effective and constructive manner for Culver City; and WHEREAS, the City Council continue s to affirm the core values of peace, justice, equality, and respect for all individuals, and will work to instill these principles within our local community; and
WHEREAS, we acknowledge the profound impacts that international conflicts have on the global community and support diplomatic solutions to prevent and resolve conflicts; and
WHEREAS, we encourage federal international relations, supporting the notion that international conflicts should be addressed through dialogue and diplomatic means at the federal level, rather than through action by the City Council; and WHEREAS, while we acknowledge the global context of international conflicts, the City Council emphasizes the importance of focusing on local initiatives that promote peace, social cohesion, and the well-being of our residents; and WHEREAS, we commit to maintaining transparency and accountability in the allocation of City resources, ensuring that both time and funds are spent wisely, and our priorities as a City are centered on our community and focused on local impact; and

WHEREAS, we encourage community -based projects that foster intercultural understanding, conflict resolution, and the promotion of human rights, recognizing that lasting peace begins at the local level; and
WHEREAS, we support global institutions, including the United Nations, which work towards the collective well -being of humanity and the peaceful resolution of international disputes.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Culver City, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, as follows:
1. The City of Culver City expresses its dedication to promoting peace and supporting diplomacy during times of international conflict.
2. The City of Culver City is c ommitted to the responsible use of the time and resources of City staff, and elected and appointed officials.
3. The City of Culver City r eaffirms its role as a compassionate and responsible community, committed to standing with all those who seek peace, while also focusing on strengthening our local efforts to create a more just and peaceful world.
4. By adopting this resolution, the City of Culver City invites its residents and leaders to join in its ongoing commitment to these values, fostering a future where peace prevails for all.
