DISTRICT TAXES UPDATE
CULVER CITY MEASURE CC AND C
2Q 2025 (APRIL - JUNE)
DISTRICT TAX BY MAJOR BUSINESS GROUP
Culver City Measures C and CC’s receipts from April through June combined to produce transactions tax revenues that were
3.6% above the second sales period in 2024. Excluding reporting aberrations, actual sales were up 3.5%.
Over 50% of this gain in local voter approved taxes came from contractors who performed work on projects within the City. Eating out and home delivery of meals both remained in vogue as casual dining and food delivery companies each grew 4%.
Ecommerce activity showed 7% growth, a reflection of consumers increasingly using online platforms to acquire merchandise. Overall, general consumer goods eked out a modest gain as spending at local outlets was slowed by consumers uncertainty about the economy’s future.
Business-industry products shipped into Culver City increased 7%; more volumes of activity came from office suppliers.
Similar to sales taxes, pump price declines caused service station’s collections to fall. Residential car buying declined 6% as buyers remain guarded about big ticket purchases.
The top five business types (discount department stores, casual dining, gas stations, new vehicle dealerships and specialty retailers) remitted 35% of payments received this quarter.
