A RESOLUTION OF THE CUPERTINO CITY COUNCIL
ADOPTING A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TAMIEN INNU TRAIL NAME WHEREAS, on December 21, 2021, the Cupertino City Council requested that staff refrain from using the Junipero Serra name to identify the trial provisionally referred to as the “I-280 Trail” and directed staff to research alternative trail names; and WHEREAS, the Bicycle Pedestrian Commission recommended staff conduct public outreach for the name change; and WHEREAS, staff conducted research, and presented the finding in the form of an online survey for the public to vote on their top choice; and WHEREAS, the public selected Tamien Innu as the top choice; and WHEREAS, the Bicycle Pedestrian Commission endorsed the top choice, Tamien Innu; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby adopt a Resolution approving the recommended trail name and naming the trail Tamien Innu.
