Event Date, Title, and Description:
9/8/23: Mayor Wei and I attended the 2023 AAPI Leadership Summit in Sacramento. The summit was hosted by Assembly Member Evan Low and well attended by Asian American and Pacific Islander leaders and elected officials, including Ro Khanna, Ted Lieu and Judy Chu, all members of the US Congress The intent of the summit was to bring together current and aspiring AAPI leaders who will help educate, inspire and empower attendees to become leaders within their workplace and community.
9/9/23: Attended the Cupertino Rotary Fall Festival held at Memorial Park. This was a very enjoyable community event, with several booths displaying art and crafts, food trucks, and games for young people.
9/9/23: Enjoyed participating in the annual Armenian Food Festival held at St Andrews Church. Supervisor Joe Simitian was the chief guest who had invited elected officials from many of the Santa Clara County cities to enjoy the food and the cultural performances of the Armenian community.
9/10/23: Attended the 9/11 Day of Remembrance at the County Sheriff’s Office. This somber event was hosted by State Senator Dave Cortese and Sheriff Robert Jonsen to mark the 22 nd anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11. The ceremony honored and commemorated the 9/11 first responders, victims and their survivors. Almost 25 elected officials were in attendance including US Rep Zoe Lofgren, and State Representative Ash Kalra.
