Re: Extension of the Law Enforcement Agreement
Dear Sheriff Jonsen,
Pursuant to Section VI of the current law enforcement agreement between the City of Cupertino (City) and the County of Santa Clara Sheriff's Office (Sheriff’s Office), please accept this letter as written notice of the City's intention to extend the agreement.
The Sheriff's Office and, in particular, your deputies have proven effective in providing law enforcement services to Cupertino. The City believes that extending this partnership for another five years, commencing on July 1, 2024, and concluding on July 1, 2029, would be in the best interest of our community.
With your agreement, the City's Emergency Manager, Tom Chin, will work with Captain Valenzuela, West Valley Station, to extend the current agreement. Please contact Tom at [email protected] to schedule a meeting or discuss further details.
