Event 1. Tuesday November 14, 2023 @ 8am, Council Prep Session with Staff
Attended a staff briefing and Q&A on Mitigation Fee Act.
Event 2. Tuesday November 14, 2023 @ 11am, Media Training
Attended a Media Training session with Vice Mayor Mohan with a Trainer, learned techniques in live interviews, the dos and don’ts, and practiced a live interview with the Trainer, reviewed the video to learn points to improve.
Event 3. Tuesday November 14, 2023 @ 6pm, City Council Retreat
All five Councilmembers, the City Manager and the City Attorney attended a City Council Retreat and Learning Session
from 6pm‐8pm with Moderator Kevin Duggan.
Event 4. November 15, 2023 @ 2:20pm, California‐American Water Company
Met with two representatives from the California‐American Water Company to learn the Water Company’s activities in the region.

Attended a Prep Session with Q&A with staff on Zone Code Amendment.

Interviewed with a Journalist to comment on the City’s budget issues.

Elected Officials Summit
Attended the National API Elected Officials Summit hosted by Civic Leadership USA, attended sessions on leadership development, state and national API representation, AI and future industrial trends, and networked with local, state, and national elected officials as well as representatives from non‐profit organizations and industries.
Event 9. Sunday November 19, 2024, Diwali Annakut Celebration at Bay Area Youth Vaishnav Parivar
Attended the Diwali Annakut Celebration at the Bay Area Youth Vaishnav Parivar Temple, toured beautifully decorated rooms, hand=made art displays, and tasted delicious dishes. The purpose of
the Bay Area Youth Vaishnav Parivar is to
propagate and understand the life and teachings of Lord Krishna.

Met with a resident to listen to his permit issues, and advised him to email details for staff evaluation.

3 Event 13. November 20, 2023 @ 4pm, 45th Anniversary Virtual Celebration with Toyokawa
Celebrated the 45
th Anniversary of the Sister‐City relationship between Cupertino and Toyokawa via a formal virtual meeting. Both cities were well represented with Mayors, Sister City Representatives, and City Managers. The congratulatory speeches were translated from English to Japanese and Japanese to English.
