Re: Support for the Lawrence-Mitty Park and Trail project (Item 3 on the 6/11 agenda) Dear Chair Shearin and commissioners,
The Santa Clara V alley Audubon Society (SCV AS) was founded in 1926 and is one of the largest National Audubon Society chapters in California. SCV AS’s mission is to promote the enjoyment, understanding, and protection of birds and other wildlife by engaging people of all ages in birding, education, and conservation. Located at McClellan Ranch, we are proud to call Cupertino home.

Our members and volunteers have engaged in the public process during the development of the Lawrence-Mitty Park and Trail project Conceptual Design, and our staff has reviewed the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration and the responses to comments. We thank staff, the commissioners and the consultants for their work on this project, and support Staff recommendation that you recommend to the City Council approval of the Final Conceptual Design and adoption of the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration.

Thank you,
Shani Kleinhaus, Ph.D.
