Proclamation
WHEREAS, The Friends of the Cupertino Library (FOCL), an all-volunteer non-profit organization, has supported the Cupertino Library for over 50 years; and
WHEREAS, The Friends of the Cupertino Library accepts donated books from the public and resells them to encourage reading and raise funds to support the Cupertino Library; and
WHEREAS, The Friends of the Cupertino Library has raised and donated millions of dollars to the Cupertino Library to support numerous educational programs, activities, and events for adults, teens, and children; and
WHEREAS, The Friends of the Cupertino Library has supported over 700 such programs in the past year; and
WHEREAS, The Friends of the Cupertino Library fully funded the purchase of the Go Go Biblio Bookmobile; and
WHEREAS, The Friends of the Cupertino Library has generously supported building upgrades to the Cupertino Library in the past and has currently pledged a significant donation for the refurbishment of the fish tank; and
WHEREAS, Thanks to the Friends of the Cupertino Library, the Cupertino Library remains a lively, welcoming, vibrant, and enriching facility for all Cupertino Residents
THEREFORE, I, Mayor Liang Chao, and the Cupertino City Council do hereby commend and recognize the
Friends of the Cupertino Library
and thank them for their generous, unwavering support to our community over the decades.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the City of Cupertino to be affixed this Tuesday, June Seventeenth, Two Thousand and Twenty-Five.
