Proclamation
WHEREAS, Parks and recreation programs are essential to communities nationwide, including Cupertino, as they play a vital role in enhancing quality of life, supporting physical and mental well- being, and providing meaningful opportunities for recreation, learning, and community connection;
WHEREAS, Parks and recreation contribute to building stronger, more resilient communities by providing safe, accessible spaces and programs that encourage social interaction, physical activity, and community involvement for residents of all ages;
WHEREAS, The City of Cupertino’s Parks and Recreation Department is committed to delivering a diverse range of high-quality activities, classes, events, and services that meet the evolving needs of the community while promoting inclusion, lifelong learning, and overall wellness;
WHEREAS, Parks and the City’s nature preserve protect natural resources, preserve wildlife habitats, and enhance the natural beauty of our community;
WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation Month is an opportunity to recognize the dedicated professionals, volunteers, and community members who make Cupertino’s parks, facilities, events, and recreation programs a vital and valued part of the City;
THEREFORE, I, Mayor Liang Chao, and the Cupertino City Council do hereby Proclaim the month of July as
Parks and Recreation Month
in the City of Cupertino and encourage all residents to enjoy and support the City’s parks, preserve, recreation programs, and events, and to recognize the important role they play in making our community a great place to live, work, and play.
