Dear Council Members,
I see that the agenda today includes an eval of our City Manager. You made a wise decision in promoting Tina Kapoor to City Manager from within our City’s organization. As a 40+ year resident, I am pleased with how she represents our City. Most importantly, she’s responsive to resident concerns – and sets a good example to her staff. I have never seen her show favoritism toward anyone – that’s a huge plus. She’s a pleasant and capable administrator.

You’ve done good. Keep up the good work.

Regards,
Rhoda Fry

Dear Mayor Moore, Vice Mayor Chao, and Council Member Wang, In the last several years we have had a succession of city managers that have been recruited externally, stayed short periods of time, yelled at residents, contradicted the staff from the dais ad nauseam. Ms Kappor seems to be a steady hand, has cultivated good relationships with people, is responsive, non partisan, and efficient. She is an argument for why the city should look into promoting internally before doing an external search.. The city has been lucky to have such a dedicated employee.

Thank you for your time.

Best regards,
Brooke Ezzat

PLEASE INCLUDE THIS EMAIL AS PART OF WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS FOR THE ABOVE MEETING AGENDA ITEM.

Dear Mayor Moore, Vice Mayor Chao and Councilmembers,
As a resident of Cupertino, I have been very appreciative of your selection of Tina Kapoor as our city manager.

Often this position is filled externally but her smooth transition into this position has helped our city thrive. Her familiarity with our city processes and staff helped that transition.

Since taking on this role as city manager, City Manager Kapoor has been welcoming to residents, responsive to there concerns and has not missed providing an informative City Manager’s Report that I can recall! She has also followed through with providing Informational Memos when requested by Council. At council meetings, CM Kapoor has been responsive, direct and respectful. When she does not have an answer she has been straight forward and offered to find out. Each of these builds trust and confidence in our manager.

I look forward to her continued presence as Cupertino’s City Manager and I thank her for her dedication and hard work.

Sincerely,
Peggy Griffin

To council,
Despite repeated requests over the years, we have not had an opportunity to meet with the City Manager. We believe this lack of engagement should be a concern. We want to see this changed and our city government become more transparent, accessible, and responsive to the community.

Huang family

Hello City Manager and Members of the City Council,
We respectfully and urgently request that the continued prosecution be stopped.

We have already suffered significant losses, including the loss of the property and its belongings on two separate occasions. There were also serious errors involving the property tax assessment, including what appears to have been a double taxation of the property tax base. High five figure each year.

In addition, a single filing by the City previously brought our court action to an end, the fact that City were represented by a very large law firm with hundreds of lawyers, we were not. The legal fees we incurred over all these years have not been much, minimal comparing how substantial we paid to the city through property tax and twice permits related to it(city didn't honor), etc., and all have consumed a significant portion of whatever value or gain could reasonably have been obtained from the property, causing debts.

This is especially troubling given that the property is not located in a particularly desirable or high-value area of Cupertino.

Considering the repeated loss of the property and our belongings, the substantial financial burden we have already endured, and the history of errors and procedural problems, we strongly and urgently request that the authorities stop this continuing prosecution and bring this matter to an end.

We respectfully ask for immediate consideration of this request.

Regards,
Huang family
