Mayor Arnerich closed the item to public comment.

Mayor Arnerich stated that the Ralph M. Brown Act requires that, before any agreement specifying salary or compensation for the City Attorney can become effective, the Town Council must verbally summarize those changes. Resolution No. 76-2026 would approve an extension and amendment of the employment agreement for our City Attorney. The agreement contains the following terms: (1) the term of the agreement would be extended by one year, from August 1, 2026, until August 1, 2027; and, (2) the attorney’s salary would be increased by 3%, which equates to an additional $8,502 in salary and $3,060 in pension contribution, for a total increase of $11,562. Because the Town has a defined contribution pension plan, there are no future, unfunded liabilities associated with the agreement.
