To whom it may concern. As we stay in Stage I drought but straddle some of Stage II for public works I am continually amazed that the showers continue at the beach accesses.
Just sit outside these showers and watch as visitors use this water rarely to shower off but shower off the sand from surf boards and boogie boards, rinse off sand toys and sand chairs! They hold the on button and it just continually runs.
Then the local tax payers have to pay for this!
Most surfers bring their own water bottle often times on top of car getting sun warmed and then they use this to rinse off.
We have showers only at beach safety center and 20 th street and 25 th street. Many visitors not at these streets figure it out without showers. I suggest Del Mar do the same as surfers and turn showers off and conserve water! Thank you

Dear Council Members,
I am writing as an individual not the Canyon Crest Neighborhood Committee or others within the neighborhood to voice our family’s support of the San Dieguito Drive Development Phase I Engineering Assessment to be reviewed on the 20th.
This is a fabulous step forward that our family greatly appreciates. We live on Oribia so every time we go out we must drive the full length of San Dieguito Drive. While both of us have become good at dodging the pot holes we are concerned about emergency vehicles that would have to dodge them as well. The current situation is dangerous.
We recognize that there are a lot of future milestones, action items and decisions that will be necessary to get this project done and applaud this step as providing the greatly needed initiation and options for the community to consider. Without your continued support we wouldn’t even get started. We urge you to vote yes.

Dear Council Members:
We write you to support the adoption of the budget on June 20, 2022. Specifically, we urge you to support the San Dieguito Drive Development Engineering Assessment. We live on Oribia Road and drive over the potholes on San Dieguito Drive multiple times per day. The street is in desperate need of repair. As residents of this fine community, we are hopeful your discussions in closed session and the adoption of the proposed budget will take into consideration the needs of our neighborhood. Your thoughtfulness, collaboration, and desire to help improve Del Mar does not go unnoticed. Please vote yes!
Sincerely,
Caitlin and Maris Laipenieks

To: City Council and the City Manager,
My wife and I have lived in Crest Canyon since 1995 on San Dieguito Drive. We have participated in at least two formal road repair initiatives and I personally have volunteered to repair San Dieguito pot holes numerous times over the past ten years.
Climate change has made it more challenging to keep the road in good condition. It is not uncommon during heavy rains to see a torrent of water flowing down the street towards the lagoon, with all matter of asphalt debris traveling with it. The recent popularity of online purchasing has also increased the number and frequency of heavy trucks plying our roads. One such truck, Fed Ex or UPS--I forget which--sustained a flat tire due to road erosion.
Suffice it to say, my wife and I applaud the City of Del Mar taking the initiative to assess what type of work would be needed to repair San Dieguito to an acceptable county standard for our location and traffic burden. It is in all our interests, private road owners and through traffic users, to make this road more durable and to sustain it as such, into the foreseeable future.
Thank You,
Eric and Susan Clark

Dear Council Members,
I am writing to voice our family’s support of the San Dieguito Drive Development Phase I Engineering Assessment to be reviewed on the 20th.
My wife and I have lived in this neighborhood since 1997. We have raised our family here and would not trade our home for any other or a different neighborhood. We consider ourselves lucky to live where we do. The only two issues with our neighborhood is the condition of the San Dieguito Drive and lack of City Sewer system. We have have tried for many years to repair the road and get a public sewer system and have failed.
The condition of the road is approaching dangerous and lack of public sewer sewer system with the lagoon located downstream of all of our septic tanks is not desirable. Once in a while the septic fails in one of the homes and then you will have spill on Oribia road where we live.
The city considering a report to assess the situation and the potential alternatives to solve these issues is the first time that we see a serious attempt to address these issues. We realize that the report is the first step in this process. However without this first step nothing else can or will happen. I am confident that without your continued support, the neighborhood will not be able to solve this on its own. We urge you to vote yes.
