Five healthy legal trees will be removed tomorrow as the staff has recommended and the Council has mandated as a direct result of their misunderstanding of CVPP 8.D. and their continuing failure to review and modify the Plan as required by law.

2 This is a sad day for Del Mar. Removing trees for no compelling reason is an offense to residents' rights, to the community's urban forest, and to our property -- but the threat of $5000 per day in fines concentrates our attention.
We yield.
Turning the page from that travesty for now, I conclude that entering into further dialogue with the Halpern/staff alliance would present additional burdens and risks for my family. I decline to participate in the closed session you have arranged.
