Mayor Gaasterland and City Council Members,
Isn’t it time to stop these witch hunts against our newly re-elected Council Member Dan Quirk. What a wonderful way to start off the New Year. Does this Dave Druker tradition have to continue? Druker engineered the first two censures against Dan Quirk and now two unnamed council members must have put this disgusting item on the closed session agenda. Who were they?; what are there names and justifications? What are they trying to accomplish? Are they trying to suppress Council Member Dan Quirk’s freedom of speech?
I’ve been in Del Mar since 1976 and this is the worst I have seen in Del Mar when it comes to Council politics. If I had a New Year’s wish it would be that all of this nasty political hostility would end. Turn a new leaf and focus on serving the residents of Del Mar.

Mayor and council,
Upon whose authority was this inflammatory and prejudicial item naming duly elected Dan Quirk as having promulgated “misinformation” in his personal communication with his constituents and what city regulation or law did it break? The city attorney is apparently not bringing this item forward and the only others who could be are 2 council
Members.
Since I don’t believe it’s Mayor Terry Gaasterland or council member Dan Quirk, it must be council members Martinez and Spelich. They have no right to make judgements on Councilmember Quirk’s opinions. As a matter of fact, misleading communications have been received in the past from both of these council members.
What is the point of this nastiness? Dave Druker and Dwight Worden engineered the whole censure debacle. It’s time to leave this in the past and move on into 2025 recognizing that the voters chose each of you to represent THEM. The voters don’t like to see all this petty infighting. It does not become any of you and victimizes Councilmember Dan Quirk.
Time to grow up and act like adults.
