Dear ParƟcipants,
Wheres the map, before and aŌer?
I am a ConstrucƟon Project Manager and Building Consultant. Having experience with these hot zones, I find that the State is giving Del Mar no choice but to accept it. There is no debate; there is no work out with builders, there is no work out with commercial - business or personal property owners.

This is a boon doggle for the City coffers, robbing people and businesses of their hard earned money. I know this to be true from experience.

Instead of the State doing its job by allowing fire crews to clear brush, they have “made a decision” FOR YOU, because they think they know beƩer than you. How do they know where hot spots are? They are creaƟng the weather for it.

These agencies, including that hell hole of all agencies, SANDAG, care not for the people but only for their pockets.

Reject, reject, reject unƟl the people can organize against this tyranny and make plans that fit and serve their communiƟes.

No vote.

Respecƞully submiƩed,
Catherine George

Dear Council,
I'm writing to discourage the banning of bikes on all sidewalks in Del Mar.

In addition to the specific sidewalk areas Staff referenced, all of which would be absolutely essential carve-outs if any such rule were implemented, I really don't think we need to be criminalizing a 4-year-old on training wheels learning to ride their bike in front of their house.

Additionally, I wholeheartedly endorse Staff's recommendation to expressly allow bikes on our section of the Coast-toCrest Trail, and certainly not to consider prohibiting them. This has long been a popular and highly used bike connector, and in the long term is envisioned as a regional connection to Julian, as you all probably know.

I walk this portion of trail often and am not at all bothered by bikes or e-bikes passing; it's plenty wide enough for everyone.

Best,
Brad Walters

To Del Mar Mayor and City Council,

The San Dieguito River Park JPA appreciates the City’s desire to provide greater clarity and user safety for residents and users of the City’s bicycle system. The San Dieguito River Park lagoon segment of the Coast to Crest (CTC) Trail, travels adjacent to the San Dieguito Lagoon as it passes through the jurisdictions of San Diego and Del Mar. Approximately 49 miles of the CTC Trail exists today of this regional planned 71-mile-long multi-use trail. I appreciate your staƯ’s recognition of the CTC Trail in their analysis for potential changes to Del Mar’s bicycle regulations and agree with their proposal to expressly permit bicycles including class 1 and 2 e-bikes along the CTC in Del Mar, consistent with current policy and practices along the entire CTC Trail. JPA rangers patrol and manage the CTC Trail and it’s important that rule consistency and clarity be maintained along the CTC as it travels through multiple jurisdictions (Del Mar, San Diego, unincorporated County, Forest Service, etc.).

and Riverpath Del Mar”. Because the CTC Trail is planned to extend west of Jimmy Durante and under a new LOSSAN railroad bridge to its final terminus as the “Reach the Beach” segment, it would be helpful to understand the extent of the Riverpath Del Mar. My understanding is that Riverpath Del Mar exists east of the intersection of Jimmy Durante and San Dieguito Drive (planned to continue to Crest Canyon). The photograph on page 8 of the staƯ report labels the existing path along the south side of the river west of Jimmy Durante as CTC Trail. Please clarify that bicycles and e-bikes are prohibited on Riverpath Del Mar but are and would continue to be allowed west of Jimmy Durante.

Thank you for considering my comments.

Sincerely,

Shawna Anderson
