Recommendation
That the City Council consider establishing an evaluation tool to guide their review of candidate applications for the vacant council seat.
Discussion
On January 5, 2023, at a Special Meeting of the City Council, the Council directed staff to initiate an application process for the vacant seat on the Council. The Council directed that the process be the same as that used for Planning Commission vacancies and as has been used in the past for vacancies on the City Council.
Additionally, the Council directed staff to schedule a Special Meeting to be held before January 18, 2023, for the Council to consider establishing an evaluation tool to help guide their review of applicants.
Fiscal Impacts
There is no fiscal impact that results from this action.
Respectfully submitted,
John Guertin
City Manager
