CITY COUNCIL – SPECIAL MEETING
November 8, 2023
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Alindajao called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. at Pioneer School in the Hubert Rabanal Gymnasium, - 1001 Hiett Avenue.
INVOCATION
Pastor David Vivas offered the invocation.
FLAG SALUTE
Ashley led the flag salute.
ROLL CALL
Council members present: Mayor Joe Alindajao, Mayor Pro Tem Salvador Solorio-Ruiz, Mario Nunez, Jr., Liz Morris, Veronica Vasquez
Council members absent: None
OFFICIALS PRESENT
City Manager Reyna, City Clerk Garcia, Finance Director Lara Rios, City Engineer Dowling, Human Resources Director Zamudio
PUBLIC COMMENT
1. Rosalina Rivera welcomed the mayor and city council to the school.
2. Frank Herrera Jr. thanked and welcomed the mayor and city council to the gymnasium.
3. Suzane Villaruz thanked the council for honoring those that need to be honored.
4. Arnold Morrison shared the importance of recognizing those students and letting them know how important they really are.
SPECIAL AGENDA ITEM
1) Recognition of Delano Union Elementary School District and City of Delano veterans and district officials.
Certificates of recognition were presented by Mayor Alindajao and accepted by City of Delano veterans and district officials.
COUNCIL STATEMENTS AND REPORTS
The Mayor and the Council provided closing statements. All comments were to congratulate the recipients.
ADJOURNMENT
Moved by Solorio-Ruiz seconded by Nunez and unanimously carried 5-0 to adjourn the meeting at 6:27 p.m. _____________________________________________
