CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Matas called the meeting to order at 4:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present:
Councilmembers: Russell Betts, Gary Gardner, Jan Pye
Mayor Pro Tem: Roger Nuñez
Mayor: Scott Matas
Councilmember Betts inquired as to whether conducting the meeting remotely was appropriate. Mayor Matas stated that he was recently exposed to the COVID-19 virus.
Jennifer Mizrahi, City Attorney, and Jerryl Soriano, City Clerk, stated that conducting the meeting remotely was likely appropriate under Assembly Bill 361.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Kenny Dickerson addressed the City Council regarding the Closed Session Item.
At this time, Councilmember Betts exited the meeting.
Jennifer Mizrahi, City Attorney, announced the Closed Session Item. The City Council convened in Closed Session.
CLOSED SESSION:
1. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL – ANTICIPATED LITIGATION Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to subdivision (d)(2) of Section 54956.9: The facts and circumstances involve issues pertaining to a certain entity who has threatened litigation against the City, although no formal claim has been filed. The threat of litigation letter is on file with the City Clerk’s office.
