On July 2nd, 2019 the City of Desert Hot Springs entered into a Professional Services Agreement with Chambers Group, Inc to utilize their Consultant services, as an independent contractor, to provide OnCall Environmental Services on an as needed basis. This contract was set forth with a term of 3 years for a total compensation of $150,000.
The proposed Amendment to Professional Services Agreement would amend the previously approved contract, extend the term for 1 year until February 7th, 2024, and increase the total compensation to $200,000 Dollars. The increased amount is proposed due to the various projects that are projected to be reviewed by our on-call consultant. The City of Desert Hot Springs will be posting a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to establish a new list of Environmental Consultants which will be posted in March 2023. The contract extension with Chambers Group Inc. will allow staff to continue to utilize the services of Chambers Group Inc. while the new RFQ submittals are reviewed by staff.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of this service is covered by the fee paid by the applicant/developer.
The cost of professional services for the term of the agreement including the one year extension is as follows:
• FY19-20 to FY21-22: $150,000
• FY22-23 to FY23-24: 50,000
• Total $200,000
